"I feel your hurt. My dad did 2 tours in Nam, came back w/PTSD. I remember growing up, every time they showed "The Deerslayer" on TV, mom would keep us in our rooms in case something happened with dad's mind and he snapped. I would say that your husband doesn't want to hurt you in any way, physically or emotionally. Never having been "over there" I can only go by what I've been told. He probably doesn't know how to deal with everything he's seen and had to do, doesn't want to burden you with the horrors of war, and very possibly is seeing himself differently, that you deserve better than him. All this is a guess, mind you, from stuff I've heard before from my dad, mom, friend Jeremy, Friend Erin's brother. Erin's brother was in Iraq, in charge of his unit & felt every death more than a little personally. He always felt it should have been him when someone died in his unit, because he was the leader. I don't know if this helps any, but I pray for peace for you and your husband. Feel free to contact me for anything..... especially prayer."
