First I would like to say thank you for making this site. My son came home Thursday after a 15 month deployment (pg1 line 8#6). It is a constant source of comfort to know that people care. Thank you again.

Our Military Our defenders of freedom are fighting a bigger battle. Not a political one. Their battle goes beyond politics, beyond religion, race or gender. They are the defenders for us all, they are the defenders of our differences. As on soldier is taken away from us, another is returned to us. There is a balance in the universe, a natural system of order. Look beside each soldier and you will find the people who fight with them. The spouses, the sons, the daughters, the families. We serve too. Their victories our victories, their defeats are our defeats.

Hi, Clint, Remember me? I posted a note a couple of weeks ago. I'm a friend of Delores. This is to tell you that I haven't forgotten you. You and the other soldiers are constantly in my prayers. I pray that God will keep you safe from harm and that you'll return safely soon! My friends join me in saying that we are grateful to you for your bravery and for keeping us safe. I'm of Delores' generation, which means I'm old, but not too old to send you this love note. Is there something you need that I could send you? Besides love? Like stationery or pens or toothpaste, etc.? 'Bye for now. I don't have a photo of myself to send you; besides, I don't understand the computer well enough to do that. God bless you, Clint. Love, Phyllis Brown

I have watched soldierwall grow since the beginning, and I am touched by all the photos. I have some favorites, and I wonder if others do too. The first one is on page 1, Line 2 #3, of Terry Campbell, USMC. The second is on page 28, line 420, #4, Silas Oliver Malott, who served in the Spanish American War. Another is on Page 41, Row 601, #3 of Mike L., Everett H., Kenny M., and Ryan W., just showing the spirit of these service guys. Also Page 48 Line 708 #4, Patrick McGrath. It's a picture of a newborn baby with her Dad's picture placed on her. Also, page 49 Line 728, #6, Jimmy Pouncey saying goodbye to his girlfriend from the bus window. This site personalizes the military in a way that not many vehicles do, and being from a non military family it has given me a real appreciation for the sacrifice of these people in uniform. See what pictures might have touched you and share them.

Does anyone have any predictions for the year 2008? I'm not talking about politics necessarily- I mean any kind of prediction. I was thinking it might be interesting to keep track of them in this thread and later see how many of them turn out to be true. By the way, Thank you so much Mark and John for this site and doing all you're doing!!

This site is perfect for people looking for friendships among others that feel so strongly about our Military. I hope it will also help me to learn a little more about my Dad and my Uncle. I have adopted several soldiers and it is so rewarding. I have come to realize that it takes a very special person to be a Soldier. They do what they need to do to protect our country and they ask nothing in return. God bless our Soldiers past and present.
