I want to send best wishes and a nod of gratitude to Spc. Josh Aaron Wells, p. 58 line 867 #4 on Soldierwall. He lost his legs on Nov. 2, 2007, in Iraq and is in a hospital in San Antonio. You will be in the prayers of many who saw your picture on the wall. Hang in there!

I just wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to all our troops, past and present, as well as their family and friends. Your support is what helps soldiers, like my husband, who are overseas, make it through the depression of not being able to be with their loved ones, especially during the holidays. Just keep showing your support for America and all of the Defenders of our Freedom! Love and best wishes to all! God Bless and stay safe!

Did anybody notice on the Soldierwall the picture of the soldier in VietNam in the rather bleak setting with the artificial Christmas tree? It's on page 58 at the end of row 863. It says a lot about sacrifice. It would be nice to see some more Christmas photos from overseas.

The Republican debate in Iowa yesterday had no mention of Iraq. That was taken off the table, along with immigration. It doesn't seem like those issues should be ignored. It's a crazy political climate, huh?

I want to tell a little story that I hope will be an encouragement for your all important mission. Last November Brad Shilling was killed by some sneaky scum in Iraq. He left 2 children, a wife, and many family members that dearly love and miss him. My 7 year old grandson came home from school madder than a wet hen. He kicked the mailbox, stomped his feet, and slammed his bottom down on the couch exclaiming that he was mad. His intuitive Mom knew that it had to somehow be an acting out to the fact that his cousin had just been shot. When she got him to tell how he was feeling about things he opened up. He told his Mom that he was afraid that those bad guys who killed his cousin would come to his school and kill him and his friends. His Mom told him that the reason that Brad perished was so that they could NOT come to his school! That Brad died to protect him from those bad guys and they couldn't get here. Guess what? He understood this more than most adults can. He went along his merry way secure in the fact that our men and women remain vigilant in keeping us safe no matter what the cost. Thank you for all your sacrifices and keeping us safe here at home.

I love this site so much. It remembers all the troops over there who are laying their lives on the line for this country. It also shows that the men and women fighting are not be forgotten here back in the country. By their families or the country. Thanks so much to the man who made this site. I have a loved one in Iraq right now and I hope that the person sees it.
